Document Review with Customized Analysis
Why Personal Expertise Makes All the Difference Here
The requirements for getting married in Denmark depend on your nationality, marital status, and the country of origin of your documents. General information found online and AI-generated answers are often outdated, incomplete, or contradictory and may not always apply to your specific situation. If a document is missing or a certificate contains a formal error, your application will be significantly delayed.
That’s why, during our document review, we assess your specific case.
Who should consider the document review?
- Couples who wish to file their application with the Danish Familieretshuset (Family Law Agency) on their own
- Couples who want to know in advance whether their case has a chance of success
- Couples who want to be sure that their documents are complete and accurate
- Binational couples and couples with unique documentation situations

Answers to the most frequently asked questions about document checks
Who reviews my documents during the document check?
Natalie Seyffarth, a wedding planner at Gemeinsame Zukunft e.V. who has specialized in weddings in Denmark since 2004, will personally review your documents.
Is a personal consultation better than AI?
In our experience, there is no set formula for evaluating documents from the Danish authorities, since every couple’s situation is unique and therefore requires a tailored approach.
Why isn't it enough to do some research online or ask an AI?
The requirements depend heavily on your specific situation, and rules are subject to change. We review the actual documents and determine whether they are sufficient for the Danish authorities.
Is it possible to get married in Denmark without hiring an agency?
Yes. Any couple can submit the application themselves to the Familieretshuset. However, having your documents reviewed helps prevent errors. Errors in the documents can result in the marriage application being rejected or in a interview at the Familieretshuset being scheduled.
How much does it cost to get married in Denmark if you file the application yourself?
The government fee is currently 2,100 DKK (approx. 285 €). On top of that, there’s a document review fee of 270 € per couple if you’d like professional assistance.
Will you, as an agency, submit the application?
No. With the Document Check, you submit the application yourself. If you'd rather not do that, our Civil Wedding Package is the right choice for you.
Could I switch to your full-service package later on?
Yes. The €270 for the document check can be fully applied toward one of our wedding packages (e.g., the Civil Ceremony Package, total price €740). You’ll then only have to pay the difference.
