Getting Married in Apenrade (Aabenraa)

Apenrade, or Aabenraa as it’s called in Danish, is a charming, picturesque little town in southern Denmark. Aabenraa is located about 30 kilometers north of Flensburg on a bay of the Baltic Sea known as the Apenrader Fjord. Because of its proximity to Germany, Aabenraa is a popular wedding destination for many couples from Germany.

In Aabenraa’s Old Town Hall, where the registry office has been located for years, romance is in the air. The Old Town Hall at Storegade 30 in Aabenraa was built between 1828 and 1830 and is an example of Neoclassical architecture.
